Shell and DoC Systems

Welcome to the first lab orientation!

This first session is an introduction to using a Linux terminal, and also shows how to access and submit coursework using the Department of Computing (DoC) in-house software, Scientia.

If you’re reading this, we assume that:

• you are physically in one of our labs in DoC;
• you are using a physical computer in the lab (rather than your laptop);
• you are logged into Ubuntu in the lab (rather than Windows).

If not, please do this before moving on!
